SMITTY DEE'S BRASS BAND(SDBB) is one of the premiere Brass Bands in the city of New Orleans.  This group has traveled and performed throughout the country since 1995. SDBB has toured Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Turkey and France. SDBB released their first CD (Regal Brass Band/Smitty Dee's Brass Band Parade Series) in September 1996 and their second CD (Traditional Funk/Funk-Ditional sounds of gospel and traditional jazz) was released in November 1999 during our European tour.  The band is currently working on new material to be released in Summer '09.

 

SMITTY DEES BRASS BAND (SDBB) was founded and organized in October 1991 by the renowed Dimitri K.  Smith (sousaphone/tuba player).  Dimitri K.  Smith is a former tuba player of 10 years with Dejan Olympia Brass Band.  Dimitri founded Young Olympia Brass Band and Olympia Kids Brass Band as an extension of the Dejan Olympia Brass Band.  At present, Dimitri performs with Michael White and Liberty Brass Band, Algiers Brass Band, New Orleans Spice and New Orleans Paddlewheelers. Dimitri performs nightly on the Creole Queen River Boat, weekly at Preservation Hall and seasonally as "Singing Santa Clause" at the New Orleans Riverwalk.
